- 1 ripe avocado
- 4 oz smoked salmon
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon capers
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced

- Lemon wedges for serving
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Bagels:

- Slice the bagels in half horizontally.
- Using a spoon or your fingers, gently scoop out the inside of each bagel half, leaving about a 1/4 inch border all around. Set aside the scooped bread for another use or discard.
- Toast the Bagels:
- Preheat your oven broiler or toaster oven.
- Place the scooped bagel halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
- Broil or toast until the edges are crispy and golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Watch closely to avoid burning.
- Prepare the Avocado Spread:
- In a small bowl, mash the ripe avocado with a fork until smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Assemble the Bagels:
- Spread a tablespoon of cream cheese on each bagel half.
- Layer on the mashed avocado.
- Add slices of smoked salmon on top of the avocado.
- Sprinkle capers and red onion slices over the salmon.
- Garnish with fresh dill.
- Serve:
- Place the bagel halves on plates and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
